Are epoxy floors slippery and prone to causing worker accidents?
Standard epoxy is smooth and can be slick when wet. However, as a professional epoxy contractor in Riyadh, we mix “quartz sand” or “rubber granules” into the final coat to create a highly textured, Anti-Slip surface. This provides excellent traction for pedestrians and forklifts, even when fluids are spilled.
We have old concrete saturated with oil stains. Can epoxy still be applied?
Yes, but it requires specialized preparation. Oil prevents epoxy from bonding. We use heavy diamond grinders to completely “scarify” and remove the contaminated top layer of concrete, followed by deep industrial degreasers to extract oils from the pores before applying the primer.
How long does the floor take to cure before we can drive vehicles on it?
Generally, epoxy dries to the touch and allows light foot traffic within 24 hours. However, to withstand heavy dynamic loads like cars and forklifts, it is highly recommended to wait 3 to 7 days to ensure a complete chemical cure and maximum hardness.
How is the pricing calculated? Is it by liter or square meter?
Pricing is always calculated by the total square meter. The price per sqm varies based on: required coating thickness (1mm to 5mm depending on load traffic), the current condition of the concrete and the repair work it needs, and the specific epoxy type (Standard, Anti-Static, or Anti-Bacterial).
